Mr. Gibson

Mr. Gibson Mike Gibson has been practicing law in Northwest Florida since 1989. He graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. He went on to obtain his juris doctorate degree with honors from Florida State University College of Law.
Mr. Gibson was employed as an Assistant State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida from 1989-1992. During this period, he prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Gibson has represented clients charged with crimes ranging from homicide to driving under the influence (DUI).

During the last 10 years, Mr. Gibson has represented business clients including banks and financial institutions, contractors, nursing homes, and physicians. We represent both debtors and creditors in federal bankruptcy proceedings. We have represented clients in contract disputes and construction litigation. Our office also handles commercial transactions and real estate closings.

Mr. Gibson represents clients in family law and domestic disputes. He handles child custody and visitation, child support, alimony, and personal property disputes between parents and spouses.

Our experience also extends to providing legal services for those injured through the negligence of others. Mr. Gibson has been involved in litigation in areas of malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury. We offer free initial consultations in each of these areas.

In 2002, Mr. Gibson formed The Law Firm of Mike Gibson, P.A. to continue to provide personal legal services to the community. Mr. Gibson is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the United States District Court of the Northern District of Florida. He has concentrated his practice in the areas of personal injury/wrongful death, family law, criminal defense and commercial litigation.

Mr. Jarvis

Mr. Jarvis John E. Jarvis, III is a lifelong Santa Rosa County resident and a product of its school system, having attended and graduated from Gulf Breeze Elementary, Middle and High Schools. In 1980 John graduated from Florida State University with as BS degree in Risk Management/Insurance. After three years of employment as a Commercial Property Underwriter for a large insurance company, Aetna Life and Casualty, the decision was made to go to law school. John then went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate at Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mr. Jarvis has practiced law in the First Judicial Circuit since 1989, and was employed with the Public Defender’s office for over 15 years. He has personally litigated thousands of cases in both county and circuit court. As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Jarvis has been the sole counsel on more than 50 jury trials to verdict. John has represented clients charged with crimes ranging from homicide to domestic violence and trials with complex litigation involving forensic evidence and DNA.
From 2003 - 2005, John was the sole defense counsel team member for the Escambia County Drug Court program, which has been a “model” for other programs nationwide. John is a member of the Florida Association of Drug Court Professionals, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and President-Elect of The Northwest Chapter of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Since joining the firm of Gibson & Jarvis, P.A. as partner in March of 2005, John has handled cases involving personal injury and family law, as well as criminal defense matters.
